LEO STUDENT JASON RILEY ‘04
VICTIM OF VIOLENT ACT

A recent graduate of Leo High School, the Valedictorian of the 2004 Class, Jason Riley, was the victim of a shooting on November 28, 2007 on West 69th Street.

Jason participated in football and boxing while at Leo, and won the city’s Golden GLoves Championship in the Novice Division as a Senior.  Jason also played baseball and coached Little League Teams at Marquette Park.  As if this wasn’t enough, Jason had other substantial accomplishments and an academic resume which indicated a bright future was in store.  Jason’s story is well told in The Chicago Tribune by Trevor Jensen.

All members of the Alumni Family share in the loss being experienced by Jason’s family and the larger community as a consequence of this unfortunate incident.

Also the victim of a seperate violent act in November 2008, LEO STUDENT STEVEN LYONS  ‘04 (Michael Thompson Gold Medal Recipient).
